Indianapolis MPO to Host June Speaker Series on Traffic Safety Technology and Innovation

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (IMPO) will host its June Speaker event, part of their 2026 Speaker Series, focused on the role of technology in improving roadway safety and creating safer transportation networks across Central Indiana.
The event, titled “Traffic Safety Technology”, will take place on Wednesday, June 10, at the Indiana Historical Society and will feature transportation leaders and policymakers discussing emerging tools and strategies designed to reduce crashes, improve traffic flow, and enhance public safety.
Presentations will explore topics including automated enforcement, near-miss traffic data, and smart signal technology that support safer and more responsive transportation systems.
“This speaker series is an opportunity for residents, transportation professionals, elected officials, and community stakeholders to better understand how technology is shaping the future of traffic safety in our region,” said Anna Gremling, IMPO Executive Director. “As Central Indiana continues to grow, it is critical that we have open conversations about innovative tools and policies that can help save lives, improve mobility, and create safer streets for everyone.”
