The Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (IMPO) website houses vast amounts of information, documents and data related to regional transportation, environmental, and land use planning. If you are unable to find the information you seek, please contact our office so we can assist you. You can request to view or make copies of records online, in writing, in person, or by telephone. No specific form to submit a written request is required. To the extent permitted by law, the IMPO may charge you a fee based on the information you are requesting (like copious amounts of printed materials or mailing/shipping fees, etc.). Please be as specific as possible with the request and include information on how you would like to be contacted. IMPO staff will work to provide you with a prompt response to your request.

The IMPO develops short and long range plans to support local governments and advance the region’s goals in transportation, economic development, housing, safety, sustainability, and other quality-of-life issues. The IMPO collects, analyzes, and communicates regional data to inform planning efforts and guide decision-making. The IMPO also tracks and distributes specific grant funds to local governments for the planning and construction of roads, trails, transit, and other infrastructure that moves people and goods throughout Central Indiana.
All written Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Access to Public Records Act (APRA) requests pertaining to IMPO projects, initiatives, data, or otherwise, should be emailed to Anna.Gremling@IndyMPO.gov with a subject line containing the term “FOIA/APRA” or “FOIA/APRA Request.” Materials being delivered in person or mailed should be addressed as follows:
