This Privacy Policy describes how Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (“IMPO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you (“user,” “you,” or “your”). This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Information we may collect when you access or use our website, https://indympo.gov/, (“Website”) or any other website, mobile applications, and related services we control on which we may place this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “IMPO Services”). This Policy also describes how we and others may use Personal Information, under what circumstances we may disclose Personal Information to third parties, and the instances in which we may allow third parties to collect information directly. Depending on your activities when using or accessing the IMPO Services, you may from time to time be required to agree to additional terms and conditions.
Our Services are hosted in and directed at individuals in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, you should not access or use the IMPO Services and should not share your Personal Information with us.
By using the IMPO Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Services. We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. The last updated date above provides you with notice that the Privacy Policy has been updated.

- User Records Information. Such as name, signature, address, telephone number, age, education, employment, employment history, or other similar information provided through our forms.
- Internet or other similar network activity. Such as your browsing history and information on your interactions with our Website, email, or advertisements. For example, this may include searches you have made, Services you have accessed, your IP address, browser type and version, time zone setting, location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access the Services, the pages you’ve viewed or engaged with before or after using the IMPO Services, and other actions on the IMPO Services, including the pages or content you view and links you click to third-party applications.

- Sensitive Personal Information. Such as your precise geolocation or information regarding your racial or ethnic origin through forms or surveys you choose to complete through the Website.

We automatically receive and store certain types of Personal Information whenever you interact with the IMPO Services. Web Beacons. Web Beacons are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and may be used to track the online movements of users, when an email has been opened, and to provide other information.
Embedded Scripts. Embedded Scripts are pieces of code written directly into a website’s code to add functionality or interactivity to a webpage.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

To Whom We Disclose Personal Information
IMPO may sell or share your Personal Information only as described below:
- Service Providers, Contractors, and Third Parties. We share Personal Information with vendors who process data on our behalf that help us with certain services, including user support, research and analytics, data processing, management, analytics, fraud prevention (including account access authentication), and survey administration.
- Law Enforcement, Regulators, Courts, and other Governmental Authorities. 5. INFORMATION RIGHTS
IMPO maintains its records and information in accordance with the Indiana Access to Public Records Act and applicable record-retention laws. Certain records may be required to be retained or disclosed notwithstanding individual requests to access, delete, or limit use of information. Individuals may contact IMPO to request access to or correction of information, subject to applicable law.
6. RETENTION
We will retain and use your Personal information for the period necessary for the specified purposes for which we collect it to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, as is required by Indiana law. Following the expiration of the retention period, Personal Information will be deleted.
7. DATA SECURITY
The security of your Personal Information is very important to us. We use appropriate physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards designed to protect your Personal Information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, the Internet environment is not 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee that Personal Information we collect will never be accessed in an unauthorized way.
8. MINORS’ INFORMATION
We do not intentionally seek to gather information from individuals under the age of thirteen (13). Absent a few limited exceptions, it is illegal under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for websites to knowingly obtain personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 13 without parental consent. As such, children under the age of 13 are prohibited from submitting personally identifiable information to the Website without parental consent. We encourage parents and guardians to provide adequate protection measures to prevent minors from providing information unwillingly on the internet.

Our Website and the IMPO Services may contain links to third-party websites or third-party communications tools. For example, the IMPO Services may contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, co-sponsors of projects or promotions and affiliates, or plug-ins enabling third-party features. In addition, our “Job Opportunities” page may contain links to GovernmentJobs.com, where you may apply for specific job openings. If you follow a link to any third-party website or engage a third-party plug-in, please note that these third parties have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies or any activities of such third parties. This Privacy Policy only applies to our Website and the IMPO Services. If you click a link on our Website or through the IMPO Services that takes you to another website which we do not control, you should review their policies before sharing information with that site.
10. MATERIAL CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
As noted above, we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and we will provide notice of any material changes to the Privacy Policy as required by law. All changes will be effective upon posting of the updated Privacy Policy on our Website. If you object to any change, you can stop using our Services. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
