Safer Streets, Stronger Neighborhoods

Choose your own adventure on September 15 and discover how smart street design, local leadership, and community action make streets safer for everyone. Join the IMPO for a lunchtime conversation, an evening walking tour, or both!
Lunch and Learn 11:30am -1pm Get your lunch and join us online for a conversation with author and transportation expert Wes Marshall to discuss street safety and explore what really makes community streets safer.
Walking Tour 5 – 6pm See the 46th Street and Monon Trail community project, hear from the neighbors who created the project, City staff about community-powered infrastructure, and see first-hand how this improves safety. Meet at Arsenal Park at Haverford & 46th St near the skate park. There is free street parking around the park with many spaces on Indianola Ave. The tour begins at 5pm. Check-in begins at 4:30pm. Spots are limited to 30 people.
Optional Bus to Tour 4pm Meet at the Julia M. Carson (CTC-B) at 4pm to ride together to the evening walking tour. We will take the #19 route to Arsenal Park. This is an operating city bus, not a charter. You are responsible for your bus fare and arriving on time. The #19 bus departs from CTC-B at 4:14. Have your fare ready and meet at bay B to ride with the group.
